Monique Cote is a recent graduate from McMaster University in the Honors English and Cultural Studies Program

"Hello! My name is Monique, I am a tutor here at StuTaught. I specialize in tutoring english, ESL, essays, and literacy skills. My goal is to not only help students succeed educationally but to develop positivity and enthusiasm when it comes to learning! Each student is unique and I believe it is important to help students find the most effective way to learn based on their individualistic learning styles and needs."

Ana is a Grade 12 student at Assumption Secondary School, passionate about Math, Physics, and Chemistry.

"To me, tutoring is about building confidence and showing students that they’re capable of understanding things they might have struggled with. It’s really rewarding to be part of that moment when something finally clicks for them, and to know I played a small role in their growth."

SOPHIE BASNET

Sophie is a 2nd Year Nursing student at McMaster University and serves as Co-President of the Nepali Students Association. She volunteers in the chemo lounge at Juravinski Hospital and enjoys being involved in her community and learning from others.

"Tutoring is about more than just academic content, it’s about building confidence, encouraging curiosity, and supporting students as they discover their own strengths. I see tutoring as a place where both the tutor and student grow, which is why I find it rewarding to motivate students to meet their personal goals."

Zeina is a Grade 12 Student from Burlington. I’m hardworking and passionate about learning, especially in math and science. She enjoys challenging herself academically and searches for ways to improve and apply her skills.

"Tutoring means more than just helping someone with schoolwork, it’s also about helping them understand concepts that may be useful in our daily lives, building their confidence, and showing them how much they are truly capable of. It’s a way to share and grow my knowledge while leaving a positive impact on someone else’s learning journey."

RICKEY YANG

Rickey is a Grade 12 Student at Garth Webb Secondary School with a 96% average and a passion for math and science.

"Tutoring means helping students understand concepts in a way that makes sense to them. It's about supporting their learning and building their confidence. As a tutor, I hope to create an encouraging space where students can ask questions without judgement, learn at their own pace, and feel proud of their progress."
